Michael Port

Michael Port is the current Director at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Prior to this, they were the Chief Financial Officer at Energy Focus Inc. from July 2015 to August 2018. Michael has also worked as a Consultant at Resources Global Professionals from May 2010 to July 2015.

Highlights of their tenure as CFO at Energy Focus Inc. include reducing 2017 operating expenses by $9 million, managing supply-chain activities and reducing year-over-year inventory levels by $5 million, and implementing product costing and absorption analyses, inventory purchase controls and excess inventory review procedures. Under Michael's leadership, the company was able to reduce quarterly cash consumption from an average of $5 million per quarter during 2016 to near break-even in the first quarter of 2018.

Michael Port has an MBA from Case Western Reserve University - Weatherhead School of Management and a BSBA in Accounting from The Ohio State University.
