Director Of Digital Media at Cleveland Museum of Natural History

Chris Gelles has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of digital media and creative production. Starting in 1995, Chris worked as a Technical Coordinator for Mo Willems' "The Offbeats". From 1997 to 2000, Chris served as an Animator for both Blue's Clues and Nickelodeon. In 2000, Chris worked as an Animation Consultant for Cartoon Network, where they implemented new techniques to streamline production. From 2003 to 2012, Chris was an Executive Producer and Co-Founder of a visual effects studio, working with renowned directors and studios to create marketing materials. Chris then became the Senior Director of Children's Creative at HOMER from 2013 to 2019, overseeing project lifecycles and managing staff activities. In 2019, Chris established their own boutique creative agency as a Creative Director, providing bespoke media and content packages for clients. Currently, Chris is the Director of Digital Media at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, starting in 2022.

Chris Gelles attended Freedom High School from 1988 to 1992. After completing high school, they studied at Penn State University from 1992 to 1994, where they focused on English and Bio-medical Engineering. Chris then transferred to Kutztown University in 1994 for a year, studying Fine Arts. Finally, Chris earned their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Animation from the School of Visual Arts between 1995 and 1998.
