Helion Dhrimaj

Product Manager at Clever Devices

Helion Dhrimaj has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. They started their career as an undergraduate researcher and technical assistant at NC State University, where they conducted tests on solar panels, batteries, and electric motor vehicles. They also built a test track and prototype vehicles.

After that, they worked as an undergraduate researcher for NSF Transportation Electrification at the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Maryland. Here, they conducted research on power distribution methods for a hybrid energy storage system and wrote a journal-type paper on the topic.

Following their undergraduate studies, Helion worked as an engineering intern at The National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL) under The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Here, they constructed lung simulators, collected and analyzed data from breathing tests, and assisted with mask cartridge testing.

They then pursued a Master's degree at the NSF FREEDM Systems Center in the Department of Electrical Engineering at North Carolina State University. During this time, their research focused on electric machine drives for vehicular electric power steering applications, specifically on improving torque ripple performance. They collected experimental data, performed analysis, and suggested solutions.

After completing their Master's degree, Helion joined Otis Elevator Company as an Electrical Engineer. They were part of the Service Systems Engineering Team and were responsible for the advanced field trial roll-out of sensor components in elevator systems. They also led the proof of concept field trial for a key sensor component.

Helion then transitioned to working as a systems engineer with KBRwyle, where they managed technical aspects of a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program. Their responsibilities included reviewing engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with airworthiness standards, and representing the United States Government in FMS program reviews with partner nation representatives.

They then moved to Collins Aerospace, where they worked as a Value Stream Product Manager. In this role, they managed product development and strategy, focusing on delivering value to customers.

Most recently, Helion joined Clever Devices as a Product Manager, where they continue to contribute their expertise in managing and developing products.

Helion Dhrimaj pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering at North Carolina State University from 2009 to 2013. Following this, Helion completed a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering at the same institution from 2014 to 2016.
