Robert Gomez-Reino, PhD, has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Robert served as the Chief Executive Officer at Cleverdist from 2014 onwards, where they played a key role in spearheading digitalization consulting for major firms across various verticals. Robert established strategic partnerships and project setups with System Integrators/EPCs and pioneered SCADA, IT/OT, IIoT project setups.
In addition, Dr. Gomez-Reino was a Board Member at the Geneva State Industry 4.0 Think tank from 2016 to 2018. Here, they advised on strategies for communicating the opportunities and risks associated with Industry 4.0 and digital transformations.
At CERN, Dr. Gomez-Reino held multiple roles from 2003 to 2013. Robert served as the Experiment Control System Deputy Coordinator, overseeing the operation of industrial control systems for a high-energy physics experiment. Robert designed and implemented a fully redundant hardware and software infrastructure and collaborated with various experiment services and systems. Additionally, they worked as an Experiment Control System Architect & Integrator, developing a detector supervisory control system and designing the overall architecture of the experiment detector control system. Robert also served as an Experiment Control System Developer, developing control and monitoring software applications for industrial electronic equipment at CERN.
Dr. Gomez-Reino's earlier experiences include working as a Programmer at Coritel (Accenture Group) in 2002 and as a Software Engineer at Microelectrónica Española (SanDisk) from 2001 to 2002.
Robert Gomez-Reino earned their PhD in Physics from Universidad de Santiago de Compostela in 2013. Prior to that, they obtained an Advanced Studies Diploma in Particle Physics from the same university from 2002 to 2004. Robert also holds a Physics Masters Degree in Electronics, Optoelectronics, and Microelectronics from Universidad de Santiago de Compostela from 1997 to 2001. In addition, they completed their undergraduate studies in Physics at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid from 1994 to 1997. Before entering higher education, Robert attended Colegio Nuestra Señora del Recuerdo from 1981 to 1993.
Regarding certifications, Robert has obtained various certifications such as SIMATIC WinCC OA Trainer from ETM professional control GmbH in December 2015, SIMATIC WinCC Open Architecture Certified Engineer from ETM professional control GmbH in February 2013, and Oracle BEA WebLogic Server 10/11 certification in November 2011. Robert also holds certifications in Optimising Oracle - Foundations, SIMATIC S7 (ST-PRO2), OracleAS Portal 10g R2: Build Corporate Portlets With Java Ed2, OracleAS Portal 10g R2: Build Corporate Porttals, and SIMATIC S7 (ST-PRO1).
