Omri Erez is an experienced professional in the field of drug discovery and preclinical development, currently serving as the Head of Preclinical Development at Clexio Biosciences since August 2023. Previously, Omri was the VP of Drug Discovery at Protai, where responsibilities included leading biological R&D focused on target and biomarker discovery using CRISPR and proteomics, as well as small-molecule drug discovery. Prior to that, Omri held various leadership roles at Metabomed Ltd. as SVP and VP of Biology, contributing to cancer metabolism drug discovery. Omri began the career as Head of Discovery at Proteologics, emphasizing the development of novel small molecule inhibitors. Educational qualifications include a PhD and MSc in Molecular Genetics from the Weizmann Institute of Science, and a BSc in Biology from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
