Jamal El-Hindi

Jamal El-Hindi currently serves as Counsel at Clifford Chance since June 2021. Previously, Jamal held various significant positions at the U.S. Department of the Treasury from December 2000 to June 2021, including Interim Chief Data Officer, where leadership was provided in shaping the agency-wide data strategy, and as Deputy Director of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), overseeing multiple divisions. Jamal's experience also encompasses roles as Associate Director at FinCEN and OFAC, focusing on strategic policy and compliance activities. Prior to this, Jamal worked as an Associate at Patton, Boggs & Blow, LLP, specializing in legal matters related to sanctions and international trade. Jamal holds a Doctor of Law (JD) with a Master's in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Michigan Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, along with studies at The London School of Economics.
