Amy Kessler

Director, Latin American Operations at Climate Action Reserve

Amy Kessler is currently the Director of Latin American Operations at Climate Action Reserve. Prior to this, they served as the Associate Director of Latin American Operations and then the Mexico Team Lead. In these positions, they oversaw the development of the Reserve’s Mexico Program, including the development and implementation of offset protocols for Mexico, and ensured an effective and efficient coordination across the Reserve’s policy, programmatic, and outreach efforts in Mexico. Amy also managed policy updates and implementation of the Mexico Forest Protocol as well as the development of administrative reports and guidance documents to support project development in Mexico.

Before their time with the Climate Action Reserve, Kessler worked as a Program Associate for EcoViva and then as their International Field Coordinator. In these positions, they supported EcoViva’s programs in Central America, including work on ecosystem-based management and coastal zone protection.

Kessler has a long history of working on environmental issues in both the public and private sector. Amy has a passion for finding innovative solutions to climate change and believes that market-based mechanisms are a key part of the solution.

Amy Kessler has a Master of Arts in International Environmental Policy and Business Administration from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. Amy also has a Certificate in Natural Resource Management from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (University of Cambridge CELTA), and a Bachelors of Arts in Biology with a Concentration in Environmental Studies from Kenyon College. Amy has also completed the Conserving Marine Mammals and Coastal Ecosystems program at the School for Field Studies in Puerto San Carlos, Mexico.
