Mary Nemerov currently serves as the Director of Development at the Climate and Land Use Alliance, focusing on fundraising strategies for the Forests, People, Climate collaborative. Previously, Mary held the position of Chief Philanthropy Officer at the California Academy of Sciences, overseeing a large Development Division and serving as Executive Sponsor for key strategic initiatives. At the Sierra Club, Mary excelled in various roles including Chief Advancement Officer and Deputy Chief Advancement Officer, contributing to significant revenue growth and donor management. Early in the career, Mary developed fundraising strategies as State Development Director for The Trust for Public Land and orchestrated donor engagement programs. Mary holds a Master’s degree in Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
