Saskia Keesstra is an accomplished academic and researcher specializing in soil, water, and land use management, currently serving as Designer Producer for Land Use Transformation at Climate-KIC and as Senior Researcher at Wageningen Environmental Research since April 2018. With a strong background in environmental engineering, Keesstra holds positions as Conjoint Associate Professor at the University of Newcastle and previously served as President of the Soil System Science Division of the European Geosciences Union. Keesstra’s work focuses on climate smart sustainable agricultural practices, land degradation neutrality, and carbon sequestration, among other topics. Keesstra earned a BSc, MSc, and PhD from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, complementing extensive teaching and research experience across various institutions and initiatives in Europe.
