Southeast Asia Lead (a/g) at ClimateWorks Australia

Ceren works within Climateworks’ Southeast Asia Program where she is responsible for managing the delivery of projects and initiatives across Southeast Asia and the Pacific. This involves working in collaboration with multilateral development partners, INGOs, governments, international think tanks and research organisations.

Prior to joining ClimateWorks Centre, Ceren worked for over 15 years on energy transition and climate mitigation, through various roles at the European Climate Foundation and with WWF.

Currently, Ceren is finalising her PhD with the University of Melbourne on just transitions, where her research is providing theoretical and practical insights into the role of socio-environmental conflicts in delivering sustainability and justice outcomes. She holds a Master of Science, specialising in environmental sociology, as well as a Bachelor of Arts, both from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey.
