COO & Co-Founder at Climatize at Climatize

Alba Forns has a diverse work experience in the renewable energy and climate finance sectors. Since 2021, they have been serving as the COO and Co-Founder at Climatize, a climate fintech mobile app that allows users to invest in renewable energy projects. Additionally, Alba holds the position of CCO - Chief Climate Officer at Climatize.

In 2022, Alba became a Communications Co-Chair and Steering Committee Member at WRISE San Diego Chapter, a national nonprofit organization working to accelerate the transition to a sustainable and equitable energy future.

Alba was selected as the 2023 EUSEW Young Energy Ambassador at CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure, and Environment Executive Agency.

Alba is also actively involved in various professional organizations. Alba is a member of the Energy & Environment Club at Esade Alumni and a member of Leaders for Climate Action. Alba is also a member of Founders Network, a global community of tech startup entrepreneurs.

In recognition of their contributions, Alba and their co-founder were selected as the 2022 Young Global Changers at the Global Solutions Initiative. They were also listed in the Top 10 for the Recoupling Awards 2022 hosted by the World Policy Forum's Global Solutions Initiative.

Alba's previous experience includes being the COO and Co-Founder at Seeds Renewables, where they scaled the company to 14 employees before winding down due to regulatory changes. Alba has also worked as a Teaching Assistant at Esade, supporting the course on Product Management for Entrepreneurs & Innovators.

Furthermore, Alba participated in the Techstars Boulder 2022 Fintech Class in Boulder, an accelerator program for startups in the fintech sector.

Alba Forns has a diverse education history. Alba obtained a Master of Science - MS degree in Sustainable Energy Technologies from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2021. Prior to that, in 2020, they completed a Master's Degree in Energy Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. In 2020, they also took a Business & Management course at Esade.

In 2019, Alba Forns pursued a Master of Science - MS degree in Renewable Energy (MSc RENE) from EIT InnoEnergy, which they completed in 2021. Alba also pursued Computer Engineering at Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna as an Erasmus student in 2018. In the same year, they had an exchange program at the University of Cambridge.

Alba'sundergraduate education includes a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, which they completed from 2015 to 2019. Earlier in their education, Alba Forns attended St. Paul's School for their International Secondary School education from 2009 to 2015. Alba also had their primary education at English Academy Santa Claus from 2000 to 2009.

In addition to their formal education, Alba Forns holds several certifications. Alba obtained a Commercial Solar Lending Professional certification from the University of New Hampshire in August 2022. In August 2021, they became a Board Member of the Energy and Environment Club at Esade Alumni. Alba also holds certifications in A2 Italiano from Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Barcellona, B1 Français from Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie, and C2 Proficiency English (CPE) from the University of Cambridge, all obtained in 2018 and 2015 respectively.
