Esteban Foianini Gutiérrez

He completed his undergraduate studies at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington DC-USA, where he obtained his Doctorate in Medicine in 1992. She has a specialty in General Surgery, awarded by the Bolivian Medical College and the Bolivian Society of General Surgery. Specialty he performed at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii between 1992 and 1997. He worked as a registered surgeon for the United States Army for 5 years, both in the US and in Germany. In 1998 he completed certification and in 2008 recertification as a surgical specialist from the American Board of Surgery (regulatory entity in the US). Currently, he maintains his medical license in Bolivia and the US.

He is a member of internationally renowned professional societies such as the American College of Surgeons and the Pan American Trauma Society. Previously, he was Governor for Bolivia of the American College of Surgeons and Executive Secretary of the Pan American Trauma Society. Currently, he is a member of the Trauma Committee of the American College of Surgeons, Head of ATLS-Bolivia and president-elect of the Pan-American Trauma Society. He is also a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. ), and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity – IFSO.

Author of several chapters of medical texts, including the book "Trauma" of the Panamerican Trauma Society and the Trauma Ebook of the Argentine Society of Surgery. He has also been appointed as the person in charge of the translation of the 9th. and 10th Edition of the ATLS among other texts for the American College of Surgeons and has contributed to several articles published in indexed medical journals (PUBMED).

After almost 20 years of studies and training abroad, in August 2002, he returned with his family to Santa Cruz de la Sierra and joined the medical team at the Foianini Clinic, where he shared with his father, Dr. Jorge. Foianini Lozada, his passion for surgery; who for him, is his constant inspiration and example to follow.
