Cindy Umanzor-Figueroa has over a decade of experience in the research and outcomes field, with a range of roles in several organizations. Starting from 2008, they interned at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Later on, they served as an Executive Assistant at The National Hispanic Corporate Council. From 2010 to 2012, at The George Washington University, they worked as a Spanish Interviewer/ Data Collector for Text4Baby mobile health program evaluation. After that, they held several positions, including a role as a Research Project Director for the Centers for Behavioral & Preventive Medicine at the Miriam Hospital and as a board member at College Visions. From 2019 to 2020, they worked as an Outcomes Research Associate at Optum, and from 2020 to 2022, they worked as an Outcomes Research Associate at QualityMetric. Currently, they are a Research Scientist 1 at Clinical Outcomes Solutions.

Cindy Umanzor-Figueroa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from The New School in 2005, with a focus in Liberal Arts and Cultural Studies. Cindy then pursued a Master's degree in Public Health at The George Washington University- Milken Institute School of Public Health from 2008 to 2010.
