Charles Duncan has extensive work experience in various roles in the field of IT and project management. Charles began their career as a Program Analyst at Britsh Alcan in 1988, before moving to Alcatel-Lucent as a Program Analyst in 1988-1991. Charles then worked as a Systems Manager at Donald Murray Paper Limited from 1992-2001. From 2001-2009, they held roles as IT Support and Applications Manager and Business Systems Manager at The Paper Company Ltd. Charles then joined PaperlinX Europe and held positions such as Strategic Initiative Manager, Head of Development and Solutions, and Programme Manager from 2010-2015. Charles also worked as a Project Manager at the Scottish Prison Service in 2015 and as an Application Support Specialist at CliniSys since 2016.
Charles Duncan attended Glasgow Caledonian University from 1986 to 1988, where they earned an HND in Data Processing. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in September 2020. Charles also received the MTA: Database Fundamentals certification from Microsoft in November 2019 and the MBCS certification from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in March 2014. Additionally, Charles holds certifications in Business Analysis Practice (from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT) and ITIL v3 Foundation, as well as being a registered practitioner of PRINCE2.
