Roma Hooper is the current Chair at Clinks. Roma has had a long and varied career in campaigning for criminal justice reform, most notably as the founder and director of Make Justice Work from 2008 to 2013, and as the Chair of Women's Breakout from 2015 to 2017.
Roma is a passionate advocate for reducing re-offending and improving public safety, and has been instrumental in raising awareness of the costliness of locking up low level offenders and the futility of short-term sentences. Roma continues to support these principles even after their time with Make Justice Work has ended.
In their current role at Clinks, Roma is working to promote rehabilitation and reduce re-offending among 15- to 25-year-olds leaving prison. Roma is doing this through their innovative and award-winning coaching programme, The Hero's Journey, which is empowering young people to make smarter life choices and live healthier, more fulfilling, crime-free lives.
Roma Hooper completed a Master of Science in criminology at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Roma also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Sociology from Kingston University. In addition, they have a certification from the OBE.
