Michael T. has a diverse range of work experience spanning over two decades. Michael started their career as a Front Desk Supervisor at Scottsdale Links Resort in 1998. Michael then worked as a Technologist at Ysleta Community Learning Ctr and as an Office Associate at Helzberg Diamonds in 2000. In 2001, they became a Technology Coordinator at Tierra del Sol Elementary School in Ysleta ISD. From 2002 to 2008, they served as a Technology Coordinator and Technology Applications Teacher at Mission Valley Elementary School, also in Ysleta ISD.
In 2008, Michael transitioned to the private sector, first working as a Business Analyst at TEKsystems, then as an Account Sales Representative at BDS Marketing. In the same year, they joined the University of Phoenix as a Senior Civilian & Military Enrollment Representative, where they provided customer service and advising to undergraduate and graduate students.
In 2013, Michael joined MarketSource Inc. as an Account Sales Representative, where they represented HP and provided product knowledge and assistance to customers. Michael then transitioned back to the education sector in 2016, starting as a Technology Applications Teacher at Clint Independent School District. Michael quickly moved up the ranks, becoming an Instructional Technology Coordinator, Director of Enterprise Information Services, Executive Director of Technology, and eventually Chief Technology Officer at the same district.
Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated expertise in instructional technology, staff development, customer service, and IT systems management. Michael has also been involved in strategic planning, innovation, and data analysis.
Michael T. has a diverse educational background. Michael completed their Master of Information Systems degree in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix in 2010. In the same year, they also obtained an A+ Fundamentals Certificate from the University of Phoenix. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Computer Information Systems from The University of Texas at El Paso between 2000 and 2006. Michael pursued some coursework in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at DeVry University Phoenix in 1998-1999. Additionally, they obtained a High School Diploma from J.M. Hanks High School in 1998.
In terms of additional certifications, Michael T. has obtained various qualifications. These include the Proofpoint Certified DLP Specialist 2022 from Proofpoint, the AVID DigitalXP: Computer Science (Grades 3–12) from AVID Center, and the Clever Certified Trainer from Clever Inc., all earned in 2021. Furthermore, they hold certifications such as Clever Trainer, Level 1: Clever Certified Admin Cadet, Level 2: Clever Certified Admin Coach, Level 3: Clever Certified Admin Captain, and Level 4: Clever Certified Admin Champion, all earned in 2021. In 2020, they obtained certifications as a Certified Lucidchart Educator, Certified Lucidpress Educator, Certified Lucidspark Educator, and Lucid for Education Certified Educator from Lucid. Michael T. also achieved the Master Screencaster certification from Screencastify in 2020, the Promethean Certified Teacher certification from Promethean in 2020, and the Nearpod Certified Educator certification from Nearpod in 2020. Michael was recognized as a Microsoft Innovative Educator by Microsoft in 2017 and became a Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) Certified Appraiser through the Texas Education Agency in 2018. Additionally, they completed the Level II Certified District Trainer certification from Texthelp in 2020 and the 2019 Dallas SI Digital Teaching and Learning–Foundations: Secondary certification from AVID Center in 2019.
