Brian Cookstra has an extensive work experience in communications and media relations. Brian started their career in 2004 as a Speechwriter and Press Aide for the Office of Governor Mark Warner. Brian then worked as a Press Secretary for the Harris Miller for U.S. Senate campaign in 2006. Later that year, they served as a Senior Communications Aide for the Forward Together PAC. In 2007, Cookstra worked as a Speechwriter to the University President at Georgetown University. From 2008 to 2011, they served as the Communications Director for the Office of Rep. Pete Stark. Cookstra then joined the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in 2011 as the Director of Media Relations, before moving to the Clinton Foundation in 2013 as the Director of Communications.
Brian Cookstra attended the University of Virginia from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in American Studies and Politics.
