Karina Simard

Karina Simard began their work experience in 2003 as a Programmer at Lyryx Learning. Karina then worked as a Programmer/Analyst at the University of Calgary, where they developed a web application and contributed to a pilot project for .NET web application development. In 2005, they worked as a Consultant at Arizona Bay, updating and maintaining a Cold Fusion application and creating a web tool for consolidating spreadsheets. From 2006 to 2009, they held the position of Associate at Sirrus Solutions, where they updated and maintained .NET Windows Forms applications. At the same time, at SirrusLabs, they created an in-house application using Google Web Toolkit. Karina then worked remotely as a Senior Web Developer at Fotech Solutions from 2009 to 2016. In this role, they were part of an agile team and worked on web development using various technologies such as Ruby on Rails, Sinatra, Javascript, HTML5, and C++. Karina also contributed to the maintenance work in C++ and created a Python thick client. Additionally, they helped expand and maintain a test suite using Selenium and Jenkins. Karina's most recent position is as a Software Developer at Clio - Legal Practice Management Software, which they have held since 2016.

Karina Simard completed their Bachelor of Science degree with distinction, specializing in Computer Science, at the University of Calgary. Karina pursued their education at the university from the year 2000 to 2005, during which they also had the opportunity to partake in an internship program.
