Kevin Yang began their professional career in 2014 as an Usher at the Michael J Fox Theatre. In 2017, they joined ImmuneChem Pharmaceuticals Inc. as a Laboratory Technician & Bioreagent Marketing, where they performed affinity chromatography to produce purified antibodies, ELISA tests to determine protein concentrations, and designed newsletters on company products to send to potential clients. In 2019, they began an Engineering Co-op role at FortisBC, where they collected pipeline data from record documents and engineering drawings, utilized FortisBC's GIS system to evaluate data reliability and accuracy, and reconciled FortisBC pipeline project specifications with the BC Oil & Gas Commission. In 2021, they joined Clir Renewables as an Intermediate Software Developer and Junior Software Developer, where they wrote FE React REST APIs in TypeScript, BE APIs in Go and interacted with PostgreSQL database, and BE Python gRPC calls and protocol buffers. Kevin also held a Junior Analyst role at Clir Renewables.

Kevin Yang completed a Diploma in Full-Stack Web Development from Lighthouse Labs in 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science - BASc in Chemical & Biological Engineering from The University of British Columbia from 2015 to 2020. Kevin also graduated from Burnaby South Secondary in 2015 after completing their high school studies.
