Sarath Pillai

Sarath Pillai has had an extensive career in Information Technology, holding various leadership positions in different organizations. Sarath is currently the Vice President of eHealth and Information Technology at Closing the Gap Healthcare, where they are responsible for developing IT strategy and implementing a strategic technology roadmap. Previously, they worked as a Senior Director of eHealth and Information Technology at the same company, where they played a key role in shaping the IT strategy and providing thought leadership on analytical best practices.

Before their role at Closing the Gap Healthcare, Sarath served as a Director of Information Technology at the Canadian Professional Sales Association, where they managed enterprise application and business solutions roadmaps. Sarath also initiated risk mitigating strategies and introduced Quality Assurance practices to improve project deliverables.

Sarath has also held leadership roles at pt Health, Ontario HIV Treatment Network, Sears Hearing Centre / Hear for Life Hearing Centre, Mr. Case Inc., Cantex Marketing, Freetowork Ltd., and Optima International Ltd. In these positions, they demonstrated expertise in software development, IT operations, software support, and managing high visibility mission-critical database-driven systems.

In addition to their work experience, Sarath has been an active board member at Heart House Hospice since 2022. Overall, Sarath Pillai has a proven track record of successfully leading IT initiatives, shaping strategies, and driving technological advancements in various organizations.

Sarath Pillai holds a Masters in Business Administration from Queen's University (2010-2012) and a Masters in Computing with a focus on Software Technology from Robert Gordon University (2001-2002). Sarath also completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Application at Mahatma Gandhi University from 1997 to 2000. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications including Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) from Cybrary (2017), TOGAF 9.1 Level 2 - Certified from The Open Group (2015), ITIL v3 Foundation from AXELOS Global Best Practice (2014), and VMware Certified Associate - Data Center Virtualization from VMware (2013).
