John Schimmel

John Schimmel is an experienced executive producer and narrative content specialist, currently serving as Executive Producer of Narrative Content at Cloud Imperium Games since 2012, where responsibilities include developing the story for the game Squadron 42 and overseeing high-profile performance capture shoots. Schimmel's extensive background also includes roles as Executive Producer for Frame of Mind Films, producing "The Great 14th: Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama in John's Own Words," and for Foster Boy, a film addressing corporate greed and its impact on foster care. Additionally, Schimmel is a visiting professor in screenwriting at the University of California, Riverside, and has previously taught producing at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. With a rich history in various production and leadership roles across multiple companies, including Ascendant Pictures and Belair Entertainment, along with independent projects, Schimmel brings a diverse skill set to the film and gaming industries. Schimmel holds an MFA in creative writing from Goddard College and a BA in psychology from Wesleyan University.
