Rob Goodall

Rob Goodall has worked in the DevOps field since 2004. From 2004-2008, they worked at Sophos as a Release Engineer - Build Services, where they were responsible for Linux and UNIX build engineering and automation, as well as Linux and UNIX QA Test and automation. In 2008, they moved to Nokia, where they developed a software delivery framework to automate the delivery process of the Symbian OS SDK to partners worldwide. In 2009, they worked at LCH.Clearnet as a COTS Tools Technician, where they maintained Perl configuration management tools and developed automation with Jython tools. Later in 2009, they returned to Sophos as a Build Engineer, where they were responsible for Linux, UNIX and Mac build engineering and automation with Python and BASH scripting, as well as developing Python client server applications using the twisted framework. In 2013, they worked at Wipro Technologies as a Senior Build Engineer, where they were responsible for Java build engineering and configuration management. Rob also worked at Powa Technologies Ltd as a Systems Engineer / Build Engineer & SCM, where they were the DevOps team leader of the PowaWeb e-commerce platform and worked with developers to resolve issues and enhance the platform in an agile team. In 2016, they worked at Resilient plc as a DevOps Engineer, where they provided DevOps support and advice to Development and Operations, packaged deployables as RPMs, wrote Ansible playbooks, roles and modules, automated VMware environments, and managed Jenkins and Sonatype Nexus. In 2017, they worked at Sainsbury's as a Cloud Engineer, where they were responsible for DevOps and on call support for SmartShop, monitoring of services, and management of pipelines. Since 2019, they have been working at Cloud9 (part of Symphony) as a DevOps Engineer.

Rob Goodall's education history includes a BSc (hons) in Software Engineering from the University of Bedfordshire (2000-2003), a C&G in Advanced Applications Programming from Computeach International Limited. (1998-2000), and an NVQ & ONC in Engineering from Stoke-on-Trent College (1996-2000).
