Vânia Gonçalves

Vânia G. is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in technology, research, and advocacy for women in tech. Currently serving as the Porto Site Lead and Research Program Manager at Cloudflare since June 2021, Vânia also leads the Womenflare Portugal initiative. Additional roles include being a #IAmRemarkable Certified Facilitator since May 2023, promoting self-promotion among underrepresented groups, and serving as an H2020 Expert Evaluator for the European Commission. Vânia founded Geek Girls Portugal, a community network aimed at supporting women in technology. Past positions include Technology & Innovation Business Partner at Unilabs Portugal and Science and Technology Manager at U.Porto Media Innovation Labs. Vânia holds two Ph.D. degrees in Media and Communication Studies and Digital Media from Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Universidade do Porto, respectively, along with a Master’s in Technology Policy from Cambridge Judge Business School and a Graduate degree in Informatics and Computer Engineering from Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto.
