Jairo Andres Velasco

Jairo Andres Velasco has a diverse range of work experience spanning multiple industries and roles.

Starting in 2008, they worked as a Hosting Manager and Support Software Developer for Awesome Web Marketing LLC - GreatNetworks LLC. During this time, they were responsible for web hosting management, database management, and software development using various programming languages.

In 2011, they became a Research Assistant at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, where they worked until 2015. In this role, they contributed to research projects and provided assistance in the field of digital logic.

From 2012 to 2015, Jairo worked as a Lecturer at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali, teaching courses related to microprocessors and guiding students in laboratory practices.

In 2014, they served as a Software Developer at CenPOS, where they focused on developing software architecture to support EMV features in JAVA software.

From 2015 to 2016, Jairo worked as a Senior Software Developer at ROSEN, where they analyzed and developed engineering software tools for the Oil and Gas pipeline industry.

In 2016, they joined Alert Logic as a Team Lead - Senior Engineer. In this role, they planned and designed REST services within a microservices architecture, integrating with external systems and internal data warehouses.

Starting in 2019, Jairo became the Chief Software Architect at Aurea Software, where they planned, architected, and executed projects for multiple companies and products within the organization.

Currently, they hold the position of Principal Engineer at Cloudwiry, where they are responsible for the architectural vision of the company.

Throughout their career, Jairo has demonstrated expertise in cloud-native technologies, software development, and project management.

Jairo Andres Velasco obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali in the years 2005 to 2010. Jairo Andres then pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Computer Science from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, from 2011 to 2013. Additionally, they obtained several certifications, including the Complete Erlang Course from Erlang Solutions in November 2016, the AWS Technical Professional certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in October 2016, and the .NET Framework 4 Developer (C#, WPF, WCF, Deployment) certification from Microsoft in March 2011.
