Peter Whitelaw

Peter Whitelaw is the Acting Group Chief Risk Officer at National Australia Bank, bringing 35 years of extensive experience in financial services across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. Formerly the Chief Risk Officer at Bank of New Zealand, they led a team responsible for navigating the bank's risk and compliance strategies. With a strong background as a derivatives trader and in various senior risk management roles, Peter has also championed many successful regulatory transformation programs internationally. An alumnus of Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, they hold a First Class Honours Degree in Mathematics and a Masters in Quantitative Finance from the University of Technology, Sydney. Peter's current educational pursuits include studies at Udacity and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
