Dominique Bussereau

Born in 1952, Dominque Bussereau is French politician and graduate of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris.

In 1996, he founded Avenir Transports, an association committed to fostering discussion around transport issues among members of parliament and transportation experts. He served as president of the association until 2002.

In May 2002, he was appointed State Secretary for Transport, and in June 2002, State Secretary for Transport and the Sea, attached to the Minister of Public Works, Transport, Housing, Tourism and the Sea.

He was appointed State Secretary in charge of the Budget and Budget Reforms in March 2004, prior to being named Minister for Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Rural Affairs later that year.

In 2007, he was named State Secretary for Transport, a position he held until November 2010.

During his various terms of office, Dominque Bussereau has applied his expertise in the transport sector to reform France’s ports and make them more competitive.

Dominique Bussereau is currently a member of the French Parliament (Assemblée Nationale Française) and President of Department Charente-Maritime.
