Lupe Alonzo-Diaz

Lupe Alonzo-Diaz has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Lupe is currently serving as the Vice President of Continuing Medical Education at the California Medical Association since December 2019. Prior to this, they held the position of President & CEO at Physicians for a Healthy California starting from August 2018. From July 2015 to August 2018, Lupe was the Deputy Director of Administration at the California Department of State Hospitals. Lupe also worked as the Deputy Director of Healthcare Workforce at OSHPD from March 2012 to July 2015. In their earlier career, they served as the Executive Director at the Health Professions Education Foundation from April 2008 to November 2012, and as the Acting Chief Deputy Director at the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development from June 2011 to March 2012. Additionally, Lupe has had roles as the Executive Director at the Latino Coalition for a Healthy California from October 2003 to March 2008, as a Legislative Advocate at the Western Center on Law and Poverty from March 2003 to September 2003, as a Senior Legislative Advocate at the Children's Advocacy Institute from January 2001 to April 2003, and as a Policy Analyst at MALDEF from May 1999 to January 2001.

Lupe Alonzo-Diaz completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley, from 1992 to 1997. Subsequently, from 1997 to 1999, they pursued a Masters degree in Public Affairs at The LBJ School of Public Affairs.
