Mark Lane has extensive experience in the healthcare industry. Mark started their career at Blue Shield of CA as a Lead RFP Processor, where they led a team of 20 Hospital Claim Reprocessors and successfully audited and repriced hospital claims, resulting in a recovery of approximately $3 million dollars for the health plan. Mark then worked at St. Joseph's Medical Resources as a Claims Supervisor, overseeing a staff of 20 claim adjudicators and being responsible for employee recruitment, training, and development.
After that, Mark joined PriMed/Hill Physicians Medical Group, first as a Claims Supervisor, where they supervised a team of 13 claim adjudicators and ensured the processing and payment of HMO medical claims at high performance levels. Later, they became the Lead Practice Support/Provider Relations Representative, mentoring and training a team of Practice Support staff, representing the departmental senior management at internal and external meetings, and managing relationships with ancillary and capitated providers.
Mark then worked at Pacific Partners Medical Services Inc and Medical Benefit Administration Inc as a Senior Provider Services Representative, where they successfully maintained and grew relationships with over 550 independent physicians within the HMO provider network.
Next, they joined Health Net of California as a Supervisor, Provider Services/Member Services, where they supervised a call center staff of 30 members and resolved elevated calls/issues with all customers including physicians, physician practice staff, and enrollees.
Mark also worked at Sutter Connect as a Senior Contract Configuration Analyst, where they accurately interpreted health plan and complex vendor contracts and implemented them into the billing and processing systems. Mark then joined Sutter Health Support Services as the Contract Coordinator, assisting with complex contract negotiations and tracking contractual components.
Most recently, Mark has been working at the California Medical Association, first as an Associate Director in the Center for Economic Services (CES), advocating for CMA physician members on reimbursement and medical practice issues. Mark was then promoted to the Director of CES Publications and Resources, where they created and oversaw CES publications and educational resources that demonstrated the value of membership to CMA physician members and served as the primary advocate for both CMA organization and individual physician members on reimbursement and medical practice issues with private and government payors.
Throughout their career, Mark has demonstrated a clear understanding of contractual language and strong relationship skills, making him a valuable asset in their roles.
Mark Lane attended Lincoln High School from 1982 to 1986. After that, they enrolled at the University of Southern California in 1986, where they studied Pre-Medicine/Pre-Medical Studies for one year. From 1987 to 1990, Mark attended the University of the Pacific - Eberhardt School of Business and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, with a focus on finance.
