Serena Patton

Serena Patton has extensive experience in materials science and engineering, beginning with an undergraduate research assistant role at ORNL/MDF-University of Tennessee, where research focused on the characterization of additive manufactured 316L stainless steel. Serena then advanced to a graduate research assistant position at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, developing and characterizing precipitation-hardenable high entropy alloys and assessing additive manufactured stainless steels using various analytical techniques. Following educational achievements that include an Associate of Science from Pellissippi State Community College and both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Materials Science from the University of Tennessee, Serena has transitioned into a quality assurance process engineer role at Commercial Metals Company and is currently serving as the Quality Assurance Manager at CMC.
