Steven Hughes

Steven Hughes has extensive work experience in the steel industry. Steven started their career as a Project Engineer at Chaparral Steel Midlothian in 1996 and then moved on to become a Rolling Mill Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor at Chaparral Steel Virginia in 1998. In 2000, they joined CMC as a Rolling Mill Maintenance Engineer and later worked as an Assistant Manager Maintenance & Construction. From 2007 to 2008, they served as a Business Process Lead, working on developing the SAP Plant Maintenance Module. Steven then held various managerial positions at CMC, including Assistant Maintenance Manager, Director of Operations for CMC Steel Arkansas / CMC Southern Post, and Construction Services Houston Area Manager. Currently, they are the CMC Steel Texas Works Manager and has been appointed to become the CMC Steel Florida Director of Operations from April 2023.

Steven Hughes obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University from 1990-1996. Steven later pursued an MBA from The University of Texas at San Antonio, graduating in 2011.
