John Balfe

John Balfe is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in national security analysis and strategic economic challenges. Currently serving as Managing Director at CMD Global Partners since October 2019, Balfe also holds the position of Adjunct Fellow at the Hudson Institute since November 2011 and President at Mangonel LLC since January 2005. Previous roles include Senior Principal Policy Analyst at Alion Science and Technology and Senior Advisor for Defense and Aerospace at XMS Capital Partners. Balfe led the North American Defense and Aerospace Merger and Acquisition practice at Lazard Freres & Co. from 2000 to 2004, and held leadership positions in investment banking at UFG and Troika Dialog. A graduate of Princeton University with an AM in Philosophy and the University of California, Berkeley with an AB in Philosophy, Balfe's expertise spans various facets of defense and strategic economic policy.
