Donald Coates Jr

Donald Coates Jr has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Donald started their career in the US Navy, serving as an IT2 and later becoming a Network Administrator. Throughout their tenure, they gained expertise in network administration, troubleshooting, and implementing security measures. Following their military service, Donald worked as a Helpdesk Co-op at Enterasys, where they provided technical support and maintained printers and Blackberry devices. Donald then transitioned to a Field Service Tech role at CompuCom, troubleshooting end-user issues and managing a help desk software. Continuing their career in IT support, Donald served as a Systems Administrator at Spindal Eye Care, where they managed vendors, negotiated purchases, and maintained electronic medical record databases. Subsequently, they worked as a Network Specialist at WHDH-TV, responsible for site-to-site VPN access and resolving end-user issues. As an Independent Consultant, Donald held the position of Systems Administrator, configuring routers and switches and implementing VPN connections. In their role at US Navy Reserve as an IT2, they gained additional experience in IT support. Donald then worked at Wyless as both a Network Engineer and Technical Support Engineer, where they configured and troubleshooted IPSEC tunnels, provided customer support, and managed tickets. Most recently, Donald served as a Systems Engineer at CMIT Solutions, focusing on system administration and network engineering.

Donald Coates Jr attended Chelmsford High School from 1994 to 1997. Donald did not obtain a degree or specify a field of study during this time. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications in the field of information technology. In 2003, they obtained the A+ certification from CompTIA. In 2009, they obtained the Security+ certification from CompTIA. In 2013, they obtained the CCNA Route and Switch certification from Cisco. Lastly, in 2015, they obtained the CCNA Security certification also from Cisco.
