Salvador Flores, PhD, has extensive work experience in the field of data science and analytics. Salvador most recently served as the Lead Data Scientist at CMPC, where they led the design and development of foundational product prototypes that resulted in significant business value and institutionalized use within industrial operations. Prior to this role, they worked as a Senior Data Scientist at the same company, driving advancements in data analytics and reducing chemical consumption by 5% to 10% during pulp bleaching.
Before joining CMPC, Salvador worked at the Center for Mathematical Modelling, where they held the position of Data Scientist & Operations Research Analyst. In this role, they led the Data and Resources Management strategic axis, contributed to top-notch research activities, and developed machine learning solutions for diverse industries.
Earlier in their career, Salvador served as a Postdoc at the Center for Mathematical Modelling, directing a project on efficient algorithms for robust data analysis. Salvador also worked on other projects within the center.
Salvador's academic background includes a PhD in Mathematics, which they pursued as a PhD student at Université Paul Sabatier and CNRS.
Salvador Flores, PhD, obtained an Engineer’s Degree in Applied Mathematics from Universidad de Chile, where they studied from 1999 to 2005.
