Laurence Jortner is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the field of surety claims. Currently serving as AVP of Surety Claims at CNA Surety since July 1996, Laurence manages a team responsible for contract surety claims across a significant territory in the US and Canada. Prior roles include Director of Surety Claims and Senior Claims Counsel at The Hartford from 1991 to 1996, and Fidelity & Surety Claims Supervisor at the New York City Department of Transportation from 1988 to 1991. Laurence holds a Master of Laws in Insurance Law with Honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law (2004-2009) and a Juris Doctor from St. John's University School of Law (1983-1986), in addition to undergraduate studies in Political Science at Stony Brook University and New York University.
