Rachel Willmer

DevOps Consultant at CNIguard

Rachel Willmer has over 30 years of experience working at the bleeding edge of technology. Rachel has worked as a DevOps Consultant for CNIguard since 2022. Before that, they were the founder of Hobthross Ltd, a consultancy company where they worked as a DevOps Consultant since 2004. Rachel also served as a Project Owner at Luzme.com starting in 2008. In 2020, they worked as an Infrastructure Specialist for Recast, initially delivering a technical review of proposed cloud architecture and then continuing to deliver the new scalable system. From 2018 to 2019, Rachel worked as an Infrastructure Specialist for The Scottish Government, where they migrated and upgraded their infrastructure. Rachel has also been a keynote speaker at various conferences, including DjangoCon Europe in 2018, PyCon Web in 2017, and EuroPython Society in 2016. Rachel has also worked as a freelance consultant for Elsevier from 2016 to 2017, and as a speaker at PyCon Slovakia in 2017.

Rachel Willmer's education history is as follows:

Rachel attended Durham University from 1981 to 1984, where they obtained a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Engineering Science.

In 1987, Rachel enrolled in ACCA and completed a Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance in 1988.

Rachel pursued their interest in Jazz and attended the University of St Andrews. Rachel obtained an Advanced Diploma in Jazz from 2017 to 2018, followed by a Scottish Certificate in Jazz from 2016 to 2017. In 2018, they also completed a Graduate Diploma in Jazz.

Additionally, Rachel completed a Level 1 Course (CEFRL level B1) in Spanish at The Open University in 2011.

Rachel has obtained a certification in Jazz Improvisation from Coursera, although the month and year of completion are not specified.
