Regina Birdsell has extensive work experience in various organizations. Regina started their career as the Director at New LA Marketing Partnership from 1995 to 1999. Following that, they served as the Executive Director at New LA Marketing Partnership from 1995 to 2000, where they successfully launched an $18 million economic development campaign in collaboration with Mayor Riordan and key business leaders. From 2002 to 2006, Regina was appointed as the Governor's Appointee at the Office of Ratepayer Advocates, California Public Utilities Commission. In this role, they supervised a team of 140 professionals and represented consumer interests before regulatory agencies and legislative communities. Additionally, they acted as a media spokesperson. Regina also worked as an adjunct professor at USC Annenberg School from 1998 to 2008. Lastly, they held the position of President at the Southern California Center for Nonprofit Management since 2006.

Regina Birdsell earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Journalism Public Relations from the University of Southern California from 1976 to 1980. Regina later pursued a Master's degree in Social Work Public Administration from the same institution, completing their studies from 1986 to 1988.
