Choire Sicha

Choire Sicha is a seasoned media professional currently serving as Senior Vice President of Features at CNN since May 2025. In addition, Choire has been an active interior-rated firefighter and driver-operator at a volunteer fire company in New York State since October 2021. Prior experience includes roles such as Editor At Large for New York Magazine, overseeing various editorial responsibilities from August 2021 to May 2025, and Editor of the Styles section at The New York Times from August 2017 to July 2021. Choire co-founded The Awl Network, a family of successful websites, and served as Executive Director of Partner Development at Vox Media, focusing on publishing relationships across platforms. As a reporter, Choire authored "Very Recent History," contributed to notable publications, and held editorial positions at Gawker Media and the New York Observer. Additionally, Choire served as an Assistant Adjunct Professor at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism from September 2013 to April 2023.
