Isabel Mudannayake

Isabel Mudannayake is a dedicated journalism and media student at the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media, pursuing dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and Media and Journalism. Currently serving as a Row Intern at CNN, Isabel ensures the accuracy and fairness of content while actively collaborating across departments. Experience includes developing article pitches and contributing to the writing and editing process for Outside, working as a Line Cook at Roots Natural Kitchen, and engaging with the South Asian Diaspora through writing for UNC Monsoon. Previous roles include creating social media content for The News Literacy Project and holding editorial leadership positions in student publications at Avenues: The World School. Isabel’s educational journey includes diverse experiences at NOLS and Georgetown University’s Creative Writing summer program, complemented by international exposure during high school.
