Matt Stiles

Matt Stiles is a Senior Data and Graphics Editor at CNN, overseeing global visual journalism initiatives since November 2022. In addition to this role, Stiles serves as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Southern California, teaching a graduate-level data reporting course. Stiles has held prominent positions in data journalism, including Senior Data Viz Reporter at Grid and Data and Graphics Reporter at the Los Angeles Times, where storytelling through data and visuals was paramount. Early career roles include National Economics Correspondent at The Wall Street Journal and Data Editor at NPR. Stiles holds a BA in Journalism from The University of Texas at Arlington.
