Mike Townson is an experienced design professional currently serving as the Director of Product Design for Design Systems at CNN since January 2024. Prior to this role, Mike held several leadership positions, including Senior Director and Director of Product Design at Order.co from November 2021 to September 2023, and Group Design Manager at Blizzard Entertainment for a brief period in 2021. From 2017 to 2021, Mike contributed as Senior Director and Director of Product Design at The Knot Worldwide. Additional experience includes part-time UX Design instruction at General Assembly, and various design roles at projekt202, American Airlines, GBI Media, Yellow 7, and Home Upgrades, Inc. Mike holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interactive Media Design from the Art Institute of Dallas and an Associate's degree in Commercial Music from Collin College.
