Don Umbsaar

Don Umbsaar is a seasoned geophysicist with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. Currently serving as Geophysical Advisor for CNOOC International since February 2020, Don has previously held positions such as Specialist Geophysics at Equinor Canada, focusing on seismic interpretation in the Flemish Pass, and Senior Geophysicist at Gran Tierra Energy, where seismic interpretation and mapping were conducted in South America. Additional roles include Chief Geophysicist at Winstar Resources and Exploration Geophysicist at Encana, with early experience at Petro Canada. Don completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Geophysics from the University of Calgary in 1988.
