Lynn Benander

President at Co-op Power

Lynn Benander has extensive work experience in the clean energy industry. Lynn currently holds the position of Director of Clean Energy Enterprise at Blacks In Green, starting in 2022. Prior to this, Lynn held various positions at Co-op Power, starting as President in 2005 and later becoming President and CEO. At Co-op Power, they led a consumer-owned energy cooperative and focused on promoting a just and sustainable future. Lynn also worked at the People's Solar Energy Fund, serving as Director of Technical Assistance and Project Finance, and previously as a Manager. Additionally, they worked as an Adjunct Faculty at Greenfield Community College from 2007 to 2016 and as an Adjunct Graduate Course Instructor at MIT in 2007-2008. Lynn's work experience also includes being the President and CEO of the Cooperative Development Institute from 1996 to 2005, where they facilitated community ownership of energy products and services.

Lynn Benander pursued their education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1974 to 1982. During this time, they earned a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree with a focus on interdisciplinary/participatory education, curriculum development, facilitation, and graduate mathematics.
