Roy Alfonso has been in the fitness industry since 1990. Roy began their career as a Lead Trainer at Bodywise Personal Training. In 1999, they became the Director of Programs and Trainer Development at Mike George Fitness System. Here, they created a training manual that included 7 defined fitness programs and how to train women. Roy also conducted in-house workshops and advised trainers on complicated conditions in programming for clients. In 2001, Roy began working as a Private Soccer Coach at CoachUp. Roy's experience as a Medical Exercise Specialist helped him add injury prevention exercises that strengthened the ACL and other commonly injured areas. In 2011, they started Personal Training by Roy Alfonso, where they work with adults on health and fitness, using principals taught by Gary Gray, Gray Cook, Paul Chek, Steven Fleck and William Kraemer. Roy also works with teenage athletes on power, speed and agility, using the teachings of Tudor Bompa and Vern Gambetta.
Roy Alfonso attended the University of Illinois Chicago from 1999 to 2001, studying Kinesiology. Roy also attended Elgin High School.
