Barun Kumar is currently serving as a Management Trainee at Coal India Limited since November 2022 and is also pursuing a PhD at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur since August 2021. Barun completed a Master of Technology in Geomechanics for Minerals and Energy Resources at the same institute from 2019 to 2021, following a Bachelor of Technology in Mining Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Rourkela from 2015 to 2019. Prior experience includes summer internships at Kiriburu iron ore mine with Steel Authority of India Limited in June 2018, GDK - 5 Incline with Singareni Collieries Company Limited in May 2018, and vocational training at Moonidih Mine with Bharat Coking Coal Limited in December 2017.
