Wasi Md Alam

Wasi Alam is a seasoned professional in disaster management and capacity development, currently serving as a Senior Specialist at Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure since July 2021. Previously, Wasi worked at CARE India for seven years in various roles including Assistant Manager of the Disaster Management Unit, overseeing significant projects such as the post-disaster shelter study. Prior experience includes a Program Manager position at IDF in Bihar, where key contributions involved community-level disaster risk reduction and policy networking. Earlier roles spanned leadership and training in community initiatives at KATHA, and project management at PRADAN, focusing on self-help group formation and agricultural livelihoods. Wasi holds a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Jamia Millia Islamia, complemented by extensive training in disaster management and community development.
