Michael Pencina is a prominent data scientist and academic leader currently serving as Chief Data Scientist at Duke University Health System and Co-Founder of the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI), where efforts focus on harmonizing health AI standards and educating users. As Vice Dean for Data Science and Director of Duke AI Health at Duke University School of Medicine, Michael Pencina oversees initiatives in biostatistics and bioinformatics. Previously, director roles were held at Duke Clinical Research Institute and Harvard Clinical Research Institute. Michael Pencina earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics and Statistics from Boston University.
