Rupa Saran has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Rupa has held various roles in different organizations. Starting from 1988, they worked at HSBC: Marine Midland Bank as an Electronic Banking Service Specialist & Billing Systems Coordinator until 1992. From 1994 to 1996, they worked at State of the Art Accounting Software as a Software Support Analyst: Technical Support Services. In 1997, they joined the Orange County Department of Education, where they worked as a Programmer Analyst: Information Technology until 2009, and then transitioned to the role of Applications Analyst: Business Services until 2013. In 2013, they started working at the Coast Community College District, where they held various positions including Manager: District Information Technology, Director: Academic and User Support, Sr. Director of Information Technology, Applications & Development, Dy. Chief Information Technology Officer, and currently serves as the Chief Information Technology Officer. Additionally, they have also worked as a Guest Speaker at California State University, Long Beach in 2015.
Rupa Saran has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Project Management from the University of Wisconsin. Rupa also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Information Systems from the University at Buffalo. In terms of additional certifications, Rupa has attended the Ellucian Live Online 2020 conference hosted by Ellucian. Rupa is also certified as a Chief Information Systems Officer by the California Community College Chief Information Systems Officers Association. Rupa has completed an Ethics Training Workshop conducted by Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP. Moreover, they have certifications in ITIL Foundation in IT Service Management and ITIL Intermediate Service LifeCycle: Service Operation from PEOPLECERT. Additionally, Rupa has completed a Project Management course from UC Irvine.
