Rodney Read, CHCIO

Rodney Read, CHCIO, has extensive work experience in the field of information technology. Rodney is currently serving as the Director of Information Technology at Coastal Family Health Center, Inc. since March 2021. Prior to this, Rodney was self-employed as an Information Technology and Services Consultant, partnering with various companies from different sectors, including healthcare providers and financial service providers.

From October 2017 to March 2020, Rodney held the position of Vice President of Information Technology at Peak Vista Community Health Centers. In this role, they restructured the IT department to better suit the needs of the organization and managed the coordination, installation, maintenance, security, and integrity of the company's data and information.

Previously, Rodney worked as a Systems and Network Administrator / Associate Adviser at Turner Financial Group, Inc from January 2016 to October 2016. Rodney'sresponsibilities included performing backups, recovery, security, account setup, user training, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network-related problems. Rodney also led a CRM migration project and advised the CEO on the development of a strategic technology plan.

Rodney served as the Director of Information Technology at Presbyterian Homes of Georgia from September 1997 to June 2015. During their tenure, they built and directed the IT Department for the organization and managed a team of IT professionals and nurse informatics specialists.

Additionally, Rodney has worked as a Distributed Computer Systems Administrator at the FL Department of Corrections from January 1994 to December 1996. In this role, they were responsible for systems administration, including backups, recovery, security, troubleshooting, account setup, user training, and technical support for computer systems at multiple sites.

Rodney's career in information technology began as a Systems Administrator in the United States Air Force from December 1986 to March 1990. Rodney managed a highly classified computer system and successfully resolved software-related system problems.

Throughout their career, Rodney Read has demonstrated their expertise in IT infrastructure design, implementation, troubleshooting, analysis, and maintenance. Rodney is skilled in identifying, researching, and resolving technical issues, and has experience in restructuring IT departments, coordinating installation and maintenance of data and information systems, and advising on strategic technology plans.

Rodney Read, CHCIO, has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services from Troy University. In addition to their degree, they are an Honors Graduate from the United States Air Force Intelligence Analysis Technical School. Rodney has also obtained several certifications, including Learning VMware vSphere 6.5 from LinkedIn in August 2020, CHCIO from CHIME in November 2018, and CompTIA Project + in January 2003. Rodney has also obtained certifications from CompTIA, including A +, CompTIA IT Operations Specialist - CIOS, CompTIA Secure Infrastructure Specialist - CSIS, Network +, and Security +, all obtained in March 2017.
