Josalin Hunter, PhD, MSW, LCSW, MPH has a diverse work experience in academia, research, and clinical therapy. Josalin is currently the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at Coastal Horizons. Prior to this role, they owned and worked as a Clinical Therapist at Journey to Healing, PLLC. Josalin has also served as an Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. In addition, they have worked as an Outpatient Therapist at both LMV COUNSELING, PLLC and Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. Josalin has a strong research background, having worked as a Research Project Director at Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University and as a Graduate Research Assistant at both Rollins School of Public Health and The University of Georgia.
Josalin Hunter, PhD, MSW, LCSW, MPH has an extensive education history. Josalin completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2004. Following this, they pursued a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, graduating in 2007. In 2009, they earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree specializing in Behavioral Sciences and Health Education from Emory University. Josalin's academic journey continued with a focus on Health Promotion and Behavior, leading their to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from The University of Georgia in 2017.
