Cobalt Institute
David Boyle is an experienced environmental toxicologist currently working at the Cobalt Institute since June 2020. Prior to this role, David served as a lecturer in Biology at the University of Plymouth from October 2018 to January 2020 and contributed as a postdoctoral research associate at Heriot-Watt University, focusing on the ecotoxicity of engineered nanomaterials. David's research experience includes significant postdoctoral roles at the University of Plymouth and the University of Alberta, where projects involved sustainable nanotechnologies, the effects of engineered nanomaterials on aquatic life, and ecophysiology. David holds a PhD in Ecotoxicology and an MSc in Aquatic Resource Management from King's College London, as well as a BSc (Hons) in Applied Biology from the University of Bath.

Cobalt Institute
The Cobalt Institute (CI) is a non-profit trade association composed of producers, users, recyclers, and traders of cobalt which promotes the sustainable production and use of cobalt and acts as a knowledge centre for governments, agencies, industry, the media and the public. The Institute is largely focused on health, safety and environment, regulatory matters (chemical management), responsible sourcing, sustainability markers, global advocacy and providing useful information on cobalt and its applications.
